Morrone Web Design: Redesign
Design. Redesign. Reredesign. Publish.
I like to redesign my web site every 4 days. I do not know why, I guess I will never be satisfied with the look or feel of it. I don't have all the time in the world to be meticulous about it, but I do like to have a few key points on it as I think all websites should. This comes with years of web design experience let me tell you ;)
One: About Us Section
The most important section to me would be the 'about us'. As in any site the about me personalizes your site. It is a great opportunity to let the visitor know about you on a more personal level. Sure you offer great services but giving some insight as to what type of person you are gives the user a sense of comfort. Trust me, be yourself in this section it helps a lot when it comes to buy time for the client.
Two: Services/Products
You have to specify what you do. Whether its cut lawns to develop chips that go inside of cell phones you need to be specific to what you do. This is important for two reasons. Reason one is you let the visitor know what you do, and also what you don't do. Be very specific for that reason alone. But secondly and arguably more important is when you write any text into your site that can be read, it is read by search engines. So when you say that you 'design web sites in Youngstown', Google, Yahoo, and others all log that your site 'www.morronewebdesign.com' does this: 'design web sites in Youngstown'. Then when a user is searching for 'web design' they may stumble across your site.
This idea of word use on your site plays a huge role in marketing with Google AdWords and even AdSense. I will talk more about these in the future.
Three: Contact Us
How can you market without a way to contact. You would be surprised how many times I come accross a site that has no contact information. It is the worst form of marketing ever, period. You will honestly lose customers this way. They looked for you, found you, but then couldn't contact you. You need to keep this on your page.
